Windy day at Badminton — First Inspection

DSC_0084

Yesterday, I went to the Badminton Horse Trials to see the first inspection in front of Badminton House. Whilst waiting for the late afternoon event, I watched the Grassroots and the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse Class competitions under pouring rain and constant gales. What a day! The wind was so strong, none like I ever experienced before at a horse trial. Let’s hope the weather becomes friendlier over the course of the week., and I think it certainly will. The atmosphere was fabulous. Lots of things to see, and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the tradestands!  And I met a lot of very interesting people!

It was exciting to see all the riders present their horses for the First Inspection. Tomorrow the dressage test begins.

Beautiful horses, and may the best rider and their horse win!  It will be exciting as it is every year.
