Please note: Italy’s two riders did quite well. I applaud both Stefano Brecciaroli and Vittoria Pannizon for the tremendous effort and great rides. Vittoria Pannizon achieved 11th place in the overall individual standings. Pannizon’s dressage score was 53,50 , but she went CLEAR cross-country ride (no time faults) and 2 CLEAR jumping rounds (no time faults) in the show jumping test! She has great potential–was lacking a bit in the dressage score–her horse is an excellent cross-country jumper. Stefano Brecciaroli also an outstanding rider, achieved an excellent dressage mark of 38,50 , but had time faults on his clear cross-country ride, and in show jumping rounds. I really had hoped he would earn a medal for Italy.
Moreover, this particular Olympic cross-country course was quite difficult…that’s the opinion of most riders…
